Jennifer Grey reveals ‘Dirty Dancing’ sequel will feature ‘other characters’ from original movie
A new movie sequel to a classic Hollywood romance is in the works, with Jennifer Grey (aka the “Dirty Dancing” character) reprising her role as ballerina Anne Hathaway.
Grey will play the character of Anne’s new boyfriend, David, in a two-part movie, “Dirty Dancing: El Dorado.” The sequel will star Grey and James Marsden, who starred in the original “Dirty Dancing” and is expected to return as the father of Jane, Anne’s character, played by Jennifer Hudson in the film.
Marsden confirmed the casting of Grey in the article, which also mentions that the story involves “the relationship between Anne, Jane and David.”
The article goes on to describe the sequel, which is being developed by Universal with a script by Lisa Klink, the writer of the “Dirty Dancing” screenplay.
